20th June – Whitehouse Farm
The gardening group visited Whitehouse Farm at Ingarsby in Leicestershire today which was a former Georgian farm. The farm is now a house with a 2 acres of country garden divided into different areas such as an orchard, pools and herbaceous borders. We had a talk from the owner, who came to the house 25 years ago, on all the work they had done, creating the garden and repairing the old buildings. There were lots of blue damselflies around the larger pond. Towards the end we had refreshments in a open old farm building which provided a little shelter from the hot sun.
