Singing for Fun

The aim of the singing group is to get like minded members together who like to sing, to meet up to have fun and have a good old sing song. No experience is necessary!

We meet at Ashby Library on the 1st Friday of each month at 2pm.

7th June

Well ...... What an hour we had, for June's monthly meet up singing for fun group! Firstly the room was locked but luckily I had the magic password🔑 then I found the room hadn't been set up for us, also technology let us down as the library had removed the fixed whiteboard off the wall, left a broken projector screen on the floor which could not be used due to it being ripped, and a tiny white board on wheels that could not be rotated landscape to accommodate the words on it!!! That said we did manage to get some songs sung!!! 😁

We enjoyed a classic mixture of Sweet Caroline, Hit The Road Jack, Help by the Beatles, When I'm 64, These Boots Are Made For Walking, Pretty Woman, a Sea Shanty song for Yogi and I that the group embraced and got the gist of "Haul Away Joe". And as it was D Day remembrance time, "We'll Meet Again" by Vera Lynn.

By this time we had passed the hour and I sat down and thought "note to self, bring own projector screen for next month's meetup, so as not to have to rely on the library's resources or surprises"!!!!

Oh and when I got home, I had a strong G & T to recover from a not so smooth running session. 😁😁.

I hope to see some of you next month, as it can only get better from here on in! 🙈🙈🙈👍
