Halifax is a minster and market town, its most notable building being the Piece Hall, a unique building relating back to the wool trade. There may also be an opportunity for a visit to Shibden Hall – location for filming of Gentleman Jack. Hebden Bridge – a market town becoming Yorkshire’s literary centre but probably best known for being the location for filming Happy Valley. Whitwick u3a

NOTICEBOARD

WALKING FOOTBALL
The Burton u3a Walking Football group are looking for new members from neighbouring groups to join them. The session takes place indoors at the Meadowside Leisure Centre every Thursday between 1 and 2 pm
Walking Football played properly is a non-contact sport with no running, no arguing and minimal physical contact. No experience is necessary as we welcome all abilities. It is great fun, with a chance to applaud other people's abilities and enjoy discovering or rediscovering your own.
Each session includes a gentle warm-up and some simple drills before moving on to playing a friendly game.
If you fancy playing the beautiful game contact the group coordinator, Chris, by emailing chris_macare@yahoo.co.uk or by text to 07904 321425
